Complication after the reconstruction of the old patellar tendon rupture

Introduction. Chronic patellar tendon rupture (PTR) occurs rarely; its frequency and prevalence are unknown. There very little data on the late reconstruction in rheumatoid arthritis complications. Case report. We presented a surgical repair of PTR with early postoperative contralateral for 21-year-old woman past medical history juvenile (treated corticosteroids) who sustained initial injury 11 months prior to presentation. The side was used autograft harvesting. bone-tendon-bone (BTB) allografts followed by double-wire loop reinforcement immediate mobilization. patient 2 years, function both knees re-stored completely, full active range motion. In this case, an 11-month-old chronic (with complete resorption completely separated infrapatellar pads, complicated PTR) BTB double wire gave excellent functional result. Two years after treatment, extensor restored movements. reported satisfying outcomes able return all pre-injury activities without assistance orthopedic devices. Conclusion. This case report highlights importance diagnosis describes operative techniques treatments complications such as tendon.
